HP Wizarding World Box for March has arrived!
Of course since my blog is named Nox y Lumus, there must be a Harry Potter nerd behind the screen! And there definitely is! I very much enjoy the series and one of the first things I did when I found my current job (that pays much better than my previous one) was to sign up for JK Rowling's Wizarding World subscription box! That subscription box comes every other month and usually contains 5 to 7 objects for a particular theme. The January box was my first one and was called "The ties that bind us."
This month it is called "Enchanting Essentials." I forgot to take a nice picture of the crates so I will use some that I found online and look much better than mine would anyways. It's hard to pick a favorite item this month because while I like shirts, I also really like books! Newt Scamander's Movie Scrapbook was a total surprise to me. I'm working on getting all the books I can so it's always exciting to get a surprise like this. A shirt with the Hogwarts crest and a cute doe (Lily's and Snape's patronus) are a highlight too. I'm slowly decorating our extra room and the wizards sign is a cute addition for that. I've always enjoyed notebooks so those round out this crate nicely. The only thing I would've liked better is if instead of a Gryffindor themed notebook, they would've sent one for each house or for our own house specifically. I'm no Gryffindor after all, I'm a Ravenclaw through and through!
And since it seems silly to write a whole 'nother post about my first crate, I'm just gonna add that one onto this. As I had said above, the theme was "The ties that bind us" and the obvious item in this crate was... a tie! And this time it was specifically to our houses so mine was Ravenclaw colored. I don't ever wear ties but it's a cute item to have anyways and I'll figure out a way to use it somehow. The Rowena Ravenclaw diadem was part of the Horcrux pin collection. It's the only one I got so far and there were several in past boxes that I really didn't like all too much (I went through all the previous box reviews of course) so I was glad to receive one that I did actually like. One of my top items in this crate was the Wand Book obviously. I haven't read it yet but I am looking forward to it. I love finding out about little details like that. It shows just how much details Rowling has put into that world and makes it that much more enjoyable. The only item that could top this though was the Black Family Tree Tapestry scarf. I absolutely love scarves! I was super excited when I opened the box and that was the first thing I saw. It's also up in our extra room on the wall.
So far the sign and the scarf are the only decoration I have up in that room that will actually stay up. It's gonna be our reading (me) and gaming (him) room. We both don't necessarily enjoy the other's hobby but we like to spend time together while we do those things. I found two super comfortable papasan chairs that I'll be picking up soon!
The Harry Potter subscription is only one of the two that I get. My other one is from Spin Geeks that brings me gym gear and snacks once a month. I got a really good deal on that one at about $16 per box that gives me enough things for probably around double that money. And they are things that I do actually use so it's money well spent. But I will show those in another post some other time.
I'm still not feeling all too well but my spirits are definitely rising. I doubt I'll be very active this weekend because I'm going to the beach with my boo to meet my mom and little sister. But next week I'll push through and get back into the game!
